Assessment Specialist

Hourly Rate: $14.00/hr.

Position Summary:  The Assessment Specialist performs a variety of intake processes and documentation, including but not limited to referral source/potential client contact, insurance verification, releases of information, program rules and regulations, and assessment tools.

Position Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with a minimum of two years experience in related services or case management.

Alcohol & Other Drugs treatment/clinical experience.

Knowledge of the following areas is required; dynamics of chemically dependent persons and families; the recovery process and 12 Step Philosophy; community resources and other related services.

Planning and time management and strong organizational skills.

A valid driver’s license along with access to a vehicle. Work-related travel expense reimbursed.

Management of work processes along with strong computer skills for documentation purposes.

Ability to main confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.

Ability to be flexible especially with scheduling (may include occasional evenings and weekends) and site locations and to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.

Communication along with professionalism.

Support the organization’s mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace


Primary Responsibilities:

Implements and maintains the agency’s mission, vision, and values in all facets of performance along with the Twelve Step principles and processes.
Completes initial telephone screening for all potential Family Treatment Center clients
Assess, evaluates and performs intake process for clients entering Family Treatment Centers.
Complete timely and accurate documentation of case records per drug and alcohol licensing regulations.
Obtains timely documentation to staff or third party payers to ensure continual authorization of service. 
With the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor takes responsibility for own learning and professional development including required 25 hours of training per AOD licensing regulations.
Role models and promotes healthy professional relationships between staff and clients, families, and community service provider.
Attend all meetings, supervisions and trainings as required including procedures, practices and documentation.
