Physician Assistant - part-time

The Physician Assistant (P.A.) provides Suboxone medication prescriptions/reviews with designated clients, working collaboratively with contracted and referring physicians and other physical health providers and under the oversight of a Familylinks physician. 

Hourly Rate:  $50.00

20 hours per week

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

Master’s Degree, PA licensure, PA-required 24 hours training in Suboxone.

Two years related drug & alcohol experience preferred.

Ability to handle confidential information.

Experience with medical claim forms important.

Good communication and computer skills.

Excellent client engagement and “customer” relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Implements and maintains the agency’s mission, vision, and values in all facets of performance.
Administers and implements Suboxone health care services in compliance with agency policies and procedures and all external requirements and best practice standards.
Provides emergency and urgent health care and health maintenance for designated clients.
Provides input in the assessment, evaluation, and development of Suboxone health services and policies.
Provides primary care to clinic patients including taking detailed and accurate histories, review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports, order medical and diagnostic tests.
Perform physical examinations at the discretion of the supervising physician.
Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment.
Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
Protects patients by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care matters to patients.
Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Arrange hospital admissions and discharges at the discretion of the supervising physician.

Diagnosing and determining/providing appropriate treatment for Suboxone clients.

Prescribes medications with furnishing license. Performs duties independently within the scope and limitations of licensure.

Acts as primary liaison for designated clients with internal/external psychiatric/physical health care providers.
Provides timely, accurate, and professional written and verbal documentation of all Suboxone nursing operations and health services in compliance with agency policies and procedures and all external requirements.
Maintains all agency equipment and supplies as necessary.
Assists in the coordination of and participates in staffing meetings and conferences, as required.
Participates in special studies, projects, research, and other activities, as required.
Attends all meetings, supervisions and trainings as assigned.
