School Services Coordinator/SAP Liaison

This position will coordinate and provide preventive behavioral health services in the schools, early childhood centers, and community agencies or groups served by FamilyLinks.  This position will serve as the specialist of the host system and FamilyLinks.  Thus, the position will be the key communicator, facilitator, needs assessor, sap liaison, and customer representative.  This position will also provide and develop psycho educational classroom presentations, curriculum based groups, individual psycho educational sessions, in-services, and parent education forums to the schools and other host settings.

Position Qualification:

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Childhood Development, or related field, Masters Degree preferred.  Some prior experience in schools, SAP knowledge and experience a plus.  Act 33/34 clearances.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions*:

1. Implement and maintain the program’s philosophy, principles and procedures in all facets of performance. (Helps Families, Schools and Communities Grow Together.)

2. Prepare or assist in preparation and implementation of treatment/educational plans and goals. (This includes school assessment meetings and written plans that reflect time sensitive prevention programs in accordance with the established contractual agreement.)

3. Complete timely and accurate documentation.. (This includes weekly schedules, activity logs, accurate and timely billing forms, school logs, and end of year reports.)

4. Communicate, collaborate and meet with staff, families, external agencies and/or others as necessary to support services to clients and the mission of the agency. (Meets with the schools’ or host settings’ administrative staff on a bi-weekly basis to continue to assess host settings needs and refers them to the appropriate level of FamilyLinks and other community services. Establishes and implements ongoing marketing strategies for existing and developing (contractual) services for the department and other agency programs. Keeps families informed of students’ participation and progress, and will attend SAP Core Team meetings as directed by the school and school contracts.  )

5. Maintains program utilization rate.  Secures and completes all contractual agreements each fiscal year.  This includes completion of all contractual hours.

6. Prioritizes high-risk situations including at-risk students and helps develop an intervention plan (as a part of but not limited to core teams), that accesses and provides the appropriate interventions and critical incident documentation.

7. Implements, monitors, and responds to Quality Assurance Plans and Allegheny County requirements that include program/service outcomes, PBPS, Pre and Post tests, and customer satisfaction tools.

8. Participates in planned supervision.  Comes prepared with an agenda and keeps supervisor informed.  Knows when to act independently and when to seek help.

9. Fully participate in staff development opportunities, which are offered to enhance professional growth especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.

Working Conditions:  Must perform most services in schools which require mobility up and down steps and work in non air conditioned spaces for six to eight hours at a time.
Must be able to transport self and materials to and from a minimum of five schools a week.  Must have a vehicle or other reliable transportation to use for off-site services.
Must have flexibility with evening and weekend work.
