Salary:  $31,500

This position provides highly responsible and complex counseling and treatment services in office and community settings.  The work involves utilization of various therapeutic methods and techniques as applicable to adults, youth, and/or families experiencing problems related to substance abuse and family crises.  Provides individual, group, and family therapy utilizing the 12 Steps and Re-ED Philosophy

Position Qualification:

            Required:  Master’s degree in related field. Knowledge in the following areas:  child, adolescent, and family development; dynamics of chemically dependent persons and families; recovery process and the 12 Step Philosophy; and, mental health diagnoses.  Ability to provide individual, family, and group counseling services.  Act 33/34 clearances.  Schedule is 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Must possess valid PA driver’s license and have car available for work. 

Preferred:  CAC (Certified Addictions Counselor)

Essential Functions*/Accountabilities:

Implements and maintains the service’s philosophy, principles, methodology, and procedures in all facets of performance.

Assesses and evaluates using diagnostic criteria including PA Client Placement Criteria (PCPC) and Addiction Severity Index (ASI).

Develops and implements behaviorally specific drug & alcohol and mental health treatment plans

Completes timely and accurate documentation of case records per D&A licensing regulations.

Communicates, collaborates, and meets with staff, families, external agencies, and/or others as necessary to support services to clients and the mission of the agency.

Intervenes directly to identify, prevent, or deal with crisis situations, using crisis intervention techniques including de-escalation, conflict resolution, individual or group strategies.

Maintains weekly utilization as set by supervisor.

Provides adequate documentation to UR staff or third party payers to ensure continual authorization of services.

Establishes and works closely with community and referral sources including answering service and information calls from outside the agency.

Presents case histories in staff meetings.

Presents client information and works collaboratively with other team members, supervisor, Director, Psychiatrist, and/or PCP in providing treatment.

Takes responsibility for own learning and professional development through participation in individual supervision, mandatory staff meetings, in-service trainings, conferences, and workshops.Must maintain professional certification(s) and/or licensing.

Orients and trains new employees, interns and volunteers.

Provides monitored urinalysis testing.
