Senior Direct Care Staff - Teen Residential

Current openings are full-time located at:

A shelter for teen males & emales in McKeesport.

Must have a valid PA driver's license and be at least 21 years of age

 

Shifts:  2:00 p.m. to midnight.  All full-time shifts will include some portion of the weekend.

Hourly Rate:  $13.50

Position Summary: Provides shift leadership and direct service work with at risk population in
out-of-home service settings, with emphasis on ensuring compliance with agency policies and
external requirements through a teamwork approach. Acts in capacity of manager in manager’s absence and assumes supervisory responsibilities for assigned direct care staff.

Position Qualification:

Required: Associate's degree and minimally two years of relevant experience;  Valid PA driver’s license; Acts 33/34 clearances.  Experience working in Windows XP, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office. Schedule may require working evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as required and/or directed.


Essential Functions*/Accountabilities:

1. Implements and maintains the agency’s mission, vision and values in all facets of performance.

2. Teaches, implements and maintains the Service’s Re-Education Philosophy, principles and procedures in all facets of performance.

3. Develops, maintains and oversees therapeutic environment, including levels of supervision appropriate to at risk population, emphasizing the health and safety of consumers, staff and community.

4. Role models and promotes healthy, professional and teaching relationships with clients in all daily living activities.

5. Provides oversight of and participates in all direct service components, including referral and intake, assessment, service planning and delivery, and discharge, as delivered by direct care staff and as directed.

6. Provides oversight of and completes timely, accurate and professional written and verbal documentation of all program operations, service components and staff activities and performance.

7. Oversees the compliance with facility and property maintenance standards as defined by the agency and by external requirements.

8. Anticipates, intervenes directly and/or directs interventions in crisis situations, using approved behavior management and crisis intervention techniques.

9. Supervises and documents the administration of prescribed and non-
prescribed medications in accordance with state regulations and agency policies.

10. Provides and/or assigns the provision of transportation to supervise clients on appointments, in accordance with agency policies and legal mandates.

11. Assists in the provision of new staff orientation, training, and staff development activities and document accordingly.

12. Oversees the planning and the implementation of daily routine and activities.

13. Provides objective information on direct care staff’s performance to the manager and assists in all supervisory areas.

14. Provides on-call duties as assigned on a rotational basis.

Physical Requirements: Medium Work: Lifting 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Position may involve pushing, pulling and reaching as well as long periods (four to eight hours) of walking and standing. Will need to be able to implement elements of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, including passive physical restraints.
