Program Aide - Recovery House

$11.20/hr.

 

Currently:  a full-time 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. shift and an 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. position are available.  

Location:  the Penn Hills section of Pittsburgh

Position Summary: The Program Aide provides critical  services for the Recovery House and

is responsible for all facets  of  the overnight operations of  the Recovery House. The Teacher Counselor will work directly  with residents of  the Recovery House,

Position  Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent diploma with two to four years relevant experience.A Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Services or a related discipline is preferred.CAC certification is also preferred.

Planning and time management and good organizational skills.

A valid driver’s license as driving the Familylinks vehicle is necessary.

Knowledge of children, adolescent and families’ development and the 12-Step Philosophy necessary.

Because of our treatment philosophy, persons identified or been diagnosed with a substance use dependence must be abstinent for at least five (5) years prior to employment and remain abstinent throughout employment.

Management of work processes along with good computer skills for documentation purposes including experience with Windows XP, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office.

Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.

Ability to be flexible especially with scheduling and to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.

Mandatory overtime may be required.

This position is an awake positions with specific duties.Duties may differ with different days based on the needs of the Recovery House.

Communication along with professionalism.

Support the organization’s mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Implements and maintains the agency’s mission, vision, and values in all facets of performance.
Implements and maintains the Recovery House philosophy, principles, and procedures in all facets of performance.
Completes timely and accurate documentation.
Communicates, collaborates, and meets with staff, families, external agencies, and/or others as necessary to support services to clients and the agency’s mission.
Develops and maintains a safe and supportive environment.
Supervises clients in daily activities, parenting, personal hygiene, social skills, recreational activities, and problem solving and life skills.
Intervenes directly to identify, prevent, or deal with crisis situations utilizing de-escalation, conflict resolution, individual and group strategies.
Performs urinalysis testing on residents to ensure abstinence.
Takes responsibility for professional development through participation in supervision, staff meetings, and trainings.
Maintains safety, security, cleanliness of the facility, vehicle, and equipment and assures proper use of supplies. Conducts fire drills.
Operates a motor vehicle to transport clients to appointments, if necessary.
Role models and promotes healthy professional relationships between staff and clients, families, and community service providers.
Maintains client confidentially including client records in accordance with federal HIPAA regulations, contractual requirements and PA Code 255.5 (b).

Is required to comply with all licensing regulations, contractual requirements, accreditation standards, and agency policies and procedures related to behavior, supports, documentation, and management.

Attend all meetings, supervisions and trainings as required.
