Community Housing Coordinator - part-time

Hourly Rate:  $15.00

The Community Housing Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating support services to participants in the housing program.  The main duties include: assessments, resource supports, service planning and monitoring supports for the participants.


Position Qualifications:

 A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a Social Service related field and at least two years of relevant experience in related services or case management.
A minimum of two years’ experience and knowledge working with the homeless population is required.
The Housing Coordinator must possess a valid PA Driver’s License and access to a vehicle. 
This position must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed. 
Solid computer skills including experience with Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and the Allegheny County HMIS. 
Presentation skills and a professional manner along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of applicants and landlords are also required. 
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Self-directed, flexible with strong problem-solving abilities.
Support the organization’s mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.

     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Accept referrals thought the Alleghenylink, review applications and interview potential clients for program eligibility and admission.
Secure eligibility data collection documentation requirements from clients.
Inspect identified apartments to meet county requirements prior to admission and during involvement in the housing program.
Submission of client rental vouchers for reimbursement.
Make client referrals for job training, education, supportive services, and housing options.
Maintain case records/files on each client admitted to the program.
Completion of client service plan and progress notes.
Advocacy on behalf of clients to access other services.
Annual eligibility recertification
Face to face meeting with clients at least monthly and document (service verification).
Participate in county audits and ongoing communications with contract monitor.
Complete required reports to the county funders or any requested or assigned reports.
Participate in all staff development, training and meetings as required.
Enter monthly data requirements in HMIS.
Enter and track all outcome information.
Participation in HUD meetings and training.


Working Conditions:

 Work the hours with a flexible schedule for a part time position.
Work is completed within the office or out in the community at participant’s home or other community and provider agencies.
Must be able to travel to the various office locations
